Pour cette 34ème édition, comme chaque année, la compétition prendra la tête d'affiche et se divisera en 3 sections : longs métrages, courts métrages et documentaires : ces catégories offrent un panorama unique sur le cinéma contemporain en Amérique latine, et sont un tremplin permettant de révéler de nouveaux talents du 7ème art mais également de (re)découvrir des réalisateurs confirmés, comme le brésilien Kleber Mendonça Filho primé cette année à Cannes.

Dans un autre contexte, assistez à des courts métrages, des avant-premières et des programmes à thématiques : cette année, c'est vers les migrations que sont tournés les objectifs.Toute la semaine, une expérience humaine et culturelle forte animera la cité impériale, rythmée par les rencontres littéraires et les rencontres animées par l'IHEAL (Institut des Hautes Etudes de l'Amérique latine). 

Des animations, des initiations à la danse, des concerts, des expositions et des conférences viendront faire voyager les festivaliers tout au long de la semaine au village du festival, qui prend place au casino municipal, face à l'océan.Entre émotions, culture, littérature, débat, voyage et rencontres, le Festival Biarritz Amérique Latine est un rendez-vous à ne pas manquer !

Le fameux Village du festival, lieu de convivialité et d'échanges situé face à l'océan, permet d'assister aux expositions, aux conférences et tous les soirs aux concerts gratuits. Il est ouvert de 9h à 2h du matin.

À l'occasion de la Journée mondiale de l'océan, la Ville de Biarritz vous invite à participer à une matinée ludique instructive pour toute la famille axée sur la laisse de mer, cette bande où s'accumulent des richesses écologiques naturelles..souvent des déchets, animée Fanny Bronès, instructrice, formatrice animatrice La Fresque du climat
Sur le sable, nous apprendrons à :
Observer les éléments naturels laissés par la mer, identifier les déchets et comprendre leur origine, trier et les quantifier pour alimenter une base de données environnementale
Intervenants
Léa Stéphany chargée d'études environnement à la CAPB présentera l'importance de la laisse de mer, le rôle des Aires Marines Protégées.
Tree6clope sensibilisera aux dangers des mégots pour la vie marine.
Activité pédagogique idéale pour tous nous sensibiliser et nous encourager à adopter les bons gestes pour l'environnement.
